Boychuk broke a guy's back in the final and neither was suspended

a) Suspending Boychuk for that would've been like suspending a batter for hitting a line drive that struck and injured a pitcher - at least from the perspective of a suspension being undeserved. Totally inadvertant play, hardly malicious. Looked like they got tangled up. I've heard zero experts, even in Canada, that said that should've been a suspension (whereas Chara's was hotly debated). The Van GM wanted a suspension; well of course he did. ... The league did suspend Rome for the hit on Horton because that was malicious.

b) Your point about Luongo's comments I'd actually agree with - but it wasn't just the Boston media running with it, that's pretty much been the story from the Canadian side, that Luongo put undue pressure on himself by critiquing Thomas. Irresponsible journalism? Possibly .. but if you are able to go back and see some postgame comments from their Chicago series losses in prior years, there's no misconstruing that he's blamed his defence publicly etc. Last year he referenced his team's turnovers, and how the score could've been worse after the 1st (ie if it wasn't for his tending). Stuff like that is how you don't get the benefit of the doubt, even if you should. It's his rep now. He could overcome the rep, but it'll take a while.

c) Vancouver got outscored 23-8. That might be a record for being outscored in a Stanley Cup Final. The biggest trap was that Boston was superior in the series.

d) Marchand pointing at crowd etc. Didn't see it. Not surprised. I'd definitely agree with you that whining & childish antics were present on both sides, particularly in the middle games of the series.
