I wonder how well  the on-line version  really does?  etc.

I can see why its a tough business, first of all DMB has to keep up with all of the new Windows operating systems, now it should be investing in cloud technology for DMB as well as Apps, IPAD, IPHONE, etc.  When you see all of this, that is a ton of investment that DMB is staring at.

Bottom line I appreciate what they have done to keep us alive.  Its still the best baseball simulation out there in my opinion.  Jim is doing a good job as well.

Resisting the urge for snarky commentary ...

Ok, now that that's passed:  I suspect that if the online game was doing THAT well, the PC side would have been thrown over the side sometime ago.  That is solely my guess, however.

On your next point, they should absolutely be looking into those issues if there is any long-term interest in maintaining the game.  There's no public evidence that this kind of investment is being considered at all, and plenty - by absence - that the whole enterprise will go away first.

The last point is where my first instinct was snarkiness, but on second thought I am pleasantly surprised that there still is an official site, selling games and new seasons and even providing customer service at a high level.  I had assumed that by now this would be entirely gone, the game only supported by fellow users.  I don't want to get into the debate about comparing to other games, but I haven't seen one that matches DMB AND has the handful of features that would be legitimate improvements to DMB  as far as I'm concerned (note:  I don't care a bit about graphics).
