Jack, I've been meaning to mention this for some time, but keep forgetting.

There's a modification of an Ernie Harwellism in the PBP:

and Collins stood there
like a house by the side of the road

The real Harwell call goes like this:

"And he stood there like the house by the side of the road and watched it go by."

Just wanted to bring this up in case the intent was to duplicate the Harwell call, because if so it's off just a bit.  If that's not the intent then, in the immortal words of Emily Litella, "never mind."
