As usual, the new season file includes all of the rosters, stats, ratings, schedules, manager profiles, park factors, player transactions, and other details that you need for exciting, realistic replays of the 2011 season. This season is available in version 10 format only and may be purchased separately for $29.95 or in a bundle with Diamond Mind Baseball version 10 for $49.95. Minor Leaguer (A) Posts: 19 12/15/11 12:57 PM	I got the download - shows as purchased. It causes DMB on my computer to crash each time i tried to create the season. I thought I would try to redownload it but the 2011 disk no longer shows up as available to download on the download page. I must be doing something wrong! Any ideas of what I should check? The errors listed are WERC698 file, a WERC905 file and a WERC 926 file if that helps.

Then (no matter what destination I choose) the entire baseball game just crashes when I try to install. Maybe I need to reinstall v 10 or something. Guess I will try that while I await further ideas from DMB

Minor Leaguer (A) Posts: 19 12/15/11 1:11 PM	I only do this once a year so I must be doing something stupid. But I get through step 5 no issues but never get to step 6. It creates the directory for the new version (using the dmb10 default) but then..... BASEBALL application has stopped working. Then Do you want to send more information about the problem? And then the details shows those 3 files I posted earlier. And that is it. Sounds like my software for the game is not working right to me. I am going to try to reinstall v10 if I can find the old download for that on my HD.

Guess I will try that while I await further ideas from DMB It's possible that your copy of the 2011 Season is being corrupted during the download process or for some reason not downloading completely. What is the full file name of the file that is saved after your download is complete, and what is the size of the file that is downloaded? The 2011 Season file that is available from the Diamond Mind web site should have the file name "sd2011_v10.alt" and the file size should be 485KB. Have you sent an email to Diamond Mind support? If you require an additional download it is impossible to provide it to you without knowing who you are.

Be sure that you are using the Install season disk command from the game's File menu. Presumably you mean you are running Windows 7? What version of DMB are you using?

Minor Leaguer (A) Posts: 19 12/15/11 1:20 PM	I am pretty sure it is my copy of the game. I just tried to install sd2010_v10.exe from last year and it gave me the same message. The problem now is that v10 I have is in zip format and my winzip license is expired. Sigh.

Minor Leaguer (A) Posts: 19 12/15/11 1:40 PM	I have done both over the years on this computer but am currently using the c:\dmb10 It does create the new directory before crashing then the folder for sd2011_v10 is empty Yeah I did have a similar problem last year - this is why i stuck it into the dmb10 folder hoping that would fix it. Apparently whatever system config is causing the trouble is deeper than just windows protection. I have the game saved on my backup disk, I will try to restore from that and see if that fixes it. I think that did the trick last year.

You could try installing your season files using the workaround around instructions meant for installing seasons in version 9 on systems with a 64-bit operating system. The problem you are having is not necessarily related to having a 64-bit operating system, but the workaround instructions can actually help solve a number of installation problems. http://fansofdmb.yuku.com...e--Windows-Vista-Windows

Minor Leaguer (A) Posts: 19 12/15/11 2:00 PM	Thanks for this idea but it also failed. Got to step 4 then I crashed and burned- same issues as before. Even running my backup copy off the stick is doing the same thing. I must have something really fouled up. Sigh.

Presumably, if the license is expired the program is no longer functional. Do you still have this program installed on your computer? If so, it could be interfering with Diamond Mind when it tries to decompress the season file. Try uninstalling WinZip and see if that makes a difference. What version of Windows are you running?

Minor Leaguer (A) Posts: 19 12/15/11 2:15 PM	You are quite probably right that my expired zip license is blocking me. I will uninstall it. However, I am up and rolling now using a method you probably have never seen before. I have an old Mac with a partitioned hard drive where I can run windows. The 2011 season disk file and v10 go on the stick, open the game in the Windows Mac from the stick, create the new season file onto the stick, take the stick back to my main computer and voila - works fine. Imagine only being able to run this on a Mac! I am going to uninstall Win Zip. Hopefully that will stop us from having this conversation again in 2012. If not, see you again in 12 months (and not before for technical support I hope!)
