The League office issued the first full status update at the end of April. Future reports are expected to feature individual team information.
What was not mentioned in the report was a general feeling around the League that the hitters had all shed some collective funk in the last week of April that had plagued the League for the first three weeks of play. Some had blamed the weather, some blamed bad luck, still others spoke in hushed tones of things that happened in the Commissioner's office very late at night, involving either bourbon, that secretary of his, or both. Some said some odd thing about small sample size, but most looked on them as oddballs.
Moe Berg said nothing, and played only slightly more.

The not-yet-World-Famous Reporter got an earful from his editor when he got back into town as his main team returned from an East Coast road trip.
"Do you think I pay you to drink in every bar in this league? I can get box scores anywhere - our readers want to know about the teams! Now get your sorry hung-over a$$ to work!"

Well, Roberts and Sens WERE the real-life owners of the Houston Buffaloes, though by 1927 they had sold majority interest in the team to the St. Louis Cardinals, in the process becoming the first minor league team affiliated by ownership with a major league franchise.
I assume that was the ownership you found so interesting ...

It is rumored that the secret control room which only the Commissioner and Moe Berg know about is in either the very top of the clock tower or deep in a basement directly below the tower.

Despite the denial of both the Commissioner and Pilots' owner Emil Sick, New York Mammoth owner Lester T. Moors has stuck by his allegations that something sinister was at work in the draft, allowing Seattle to wind up with two of the league's prizes in Lou Gehrig and Babe Ruth. Seeing his team beaten today by a pair of Ruth home runs only added fuel to the auto-maker's fire.
Sick, on the other hand, has continually laughed off the accusations. "Les should go ahead and let his little girl - what's her name? Patty? - take over the team now. It's not like they could be much worse."
(For the record, the Pilots have a league best 45-26 record; the Mammoths are at the bottom of the Atlantic Division at 30-41.)
It is unlikely that this feud will cool down anytime soon.
