I think I know the answer to this, but I am asking those with superior knowledge.
If playing with injuries on, according to the player's rating, is he LESS likely to get hurt if he DHs?
So if you have a LF/1B who is "Prone"--let's call him "Willie Stargell." If he DHs on your team, will he be HALF as likely to be injured because he's only playing half the game, effectively? In other words, the injury random number will have fewer opportunities to come up thus halving frequency of injuries? I guess the same question could apply to pitchers batting. If a pitcher who didn't bat in real life bats in the league, is he more likely to be injured?
My guess is that it does not work this way and that Prone is Prone, regardless of whether the player is in the field or not.
